Her company Blyde Tae Bide has been running for over 20 years now and with her wealth of experience of over 30 years in food and tourism from living internationally and travelling around the world is reflected in her award winning Guest House.
After gaining a Degree in Hospitality management and a Masters Degree in International tourism Management Amanda took on the role of Project Manager to Scottish Enterprise in Aberdeen specialising in food and tourism and events management where she wrote and delivered a portfolio of projects to the public and private sectors. This enabled her to take Scottish businesses to the areas of excellence in the UK and abroad on food and tourism excellence learning journeys, oversee service achievement awards to hundreds of businesses and manage food excellence conferences and events throughout Aberdeen city and Shire, this allows Amanda to possess exceptional people skills and first class understanding in economic development.
Amanda returned back to Shetland in 2010 and opened her award winning Guest House. She recently joined the Shetland Tourism Association and has just this year become a private tour guide offering bespoke private tours in Shetland among her other business and voluntary remits.
Amanda is a great hostess, has a love for Shetland her homeland is a qualified chef and passionate foodie whos a natural people person and goes that extra mile for all her customers by tuning into all her skills.
