Hillside is a spacious self-catering property with 3 double bedrooms, a bathroom, kitchen, utility room, and livingroom with stunning views of Scalloway, Shetland's ancient capital. The lounge/dining room has TV with freeview, a DVD player, stereo, dining table that seats six, and fibre Wifi, ideal for keeping in touch or planning your day. All bed linen and towels are supplied and the double or twin bedrooms have plenty of storage. Bathroom is fully equipped with both a bath tub and shower. The kitchen has everything you will need for cooking at home, there is an excellent local fish monger where you will be able to source some of the world's freshest fish! There is also a washing machine, and a tumble drier in the utility room. Extensive private garden, and a single garage that can be used as lockable storage for motorbikes, bicycles, golf clubs, etc.

Hillside is in the heart of Scalloway, within easy walking distance of the Fisheries College with it's fine seafood restaurant, as well as the Cornerstone cafe and the Chinese takeaway. A short walk up the hill behind the property affords beautiful views small islands beyond the harbour and out over the Westside of Shetland. Nearby you will be able to see Shetland ponies and an array of wildlife including otters, seals and numerous seabirds.

Scalloway also has a swimming pool, a football pitch, tennis court, and children’s play areas, as well as being home to the remains of the Scalloway Castle, originally built in the 1600s. Numerous locations associated with the Shetland Bus operations from world war two are located in and around Scalloway, which is also home to a brilliant community museum with extensive displays dedicated to the Shetland Bus. There are two golf courses are within five miles and there are many lochs for trout fishing nearby.

You will have two very well-stocked local shops nearby, one of which is home to the Scalloway Meat Company, where you can source some of the best quality local meat. Shetland is, of course, famous for its lamb. Your freindly hosts have through of everything, Karen and Graham Irvine, welcome you to a home from home. All the basics are already provided: tea, coffee, sugar, washing machine powder, dish washing liquid, kitchen and toilet paper.

For the more adventurous, boat tours are operated from the Blacksness pier during the summer months and can be booked for exploration or sea angling.
