Built in 1775, Belmont House overlooks the Bluemull Sound on Unst with very rare three-quarter views from the Drawing Room south towards Linga Island and Yell, west towards the Loch of Belmont and north towards the Loch of Snarravoe . Viking heritage is but a whisker away. Immaculately restored, this elegant house is set into a designed landscape with walled formal gardens which are included in the Inventory of Historic Gardens. Belmont House is a building of National historic and architectural significance and importance.

Relax and “Be da Laird” in our fabulous south-facing “Ornyst” King size room or north-facing “Skidbladnir” Twin Garden/Farm view room (best for Aurora Borealis and stunning sunsets). All bedrooms come with private lockable bathrooms/shower rooms in either “Captain Cooks Bathroom”, “Rufus” shower room or the fabulously sumptuous “O’Mill Bathroom”.
Stay on the second floor in our “Harald Fairhair” Family/Animal-friendly room double-sized bed. Free dog treats per stay, water on tap and love guaranteed.
£20 per animal per night (except guide dogs).
Each room comes with linen, Bath & Hand Towels (on request).

Wander the gardens at your leisure and make use of the “Pineapple Pergola” or the “Venetian Pink” Writing Room to read, write or simply look out and daydream across the Bluemull Sound.
We are fully accessible for mobility and other access challenges; hence, our Shower Room, “Harald” comfortable Double Sofa bed and Dining are all on the ground floor with extra wide doors to aid step-free access.
